MOTORISTS SAY NO TO ELEVATED EXPRESSWAY OVER THIKA ROAD!

𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 has opposed the government's plan to build an elevated expressway over Thika Superhighway.

Their argument: Thika Road already has up to 12 lanes and has expressway features — why build another road on top of it?

MAK warns the project will:
• Disrupt businesses along the corridor
• Increase noise and pollution
• Reduce sunlight for those below
• Worsen traffic during construction

Instead, they want government to:
• Expand commuter rail
• Introduce Light Rail and BRT
• Improve junctions
• Build regional bypasses

This comes just weeks after the government announced construction of the Thika Town to Museum Hill elevated highway will start within the next one month.

Do you support an elevated expressway over Thika Road or should government invest in trains and BRT? 🤔
