🚨 HEAVY RAINS AND STORMS DAMAGE PROPERTY IN KISUMU AS EL NIÑO CONCERNS GROW
🌧️ KISUMU, KENYA — A brief but intense storm swept through Kisumu on Thursday evening, October 8, reportedly causing significant damage to buildings, roads, and other property.
The storm, which lasted less than 30 minutes, reportedly tore off rooftops, brought down trees and billboards, and caused sections of walls to collapse. Parked vehicles were also damaged, while fallen branches affected power lines and left debris scattered across several roads.
The incident has renewed concerns about the impact of severe weather, particularly as fears of an approaching El Niño period grow.
Residents are urged to remain alert during storms, avoid fallen power lines, and keep away from weakened walls and damaged structures.
