Sifuna Hints at New Political Party Amid Linda Mwananchi Registration Uncertainty
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has hinted that he could unveil a new political party in the coming weeks as uncertainty continues to surround the registration of his Linda Mwananchi political outfit.
Sifuna spoke on Friday, August 21, during the burial service of Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, the wife of Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, held at Malinya Stadium in Kakamega County.
His remarks came after mourners urged him to establish a political party through which he could pursue his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Responding to the calls, Sifuna suggested that plans for a political vehicle were already underway, questioning whether his supporters believed he had no party at his disposal.
“I have heard calls on the need for Sifuna to have a party. I want our people to understand: do you just sit and think that Sifuna doesn't have a party?” he said, drawing cheers from the crowd.
The remarks are likely to fuel speculation about Sifuna’s next political move, particularly as the registration of Linda Mwananchi remains uncertain ahead of the 2027 elections.
