An autopsy conducted today on 48-year-old Catherine Njeru at Embu Level 5 Hospital has established that the mother of three died from severe blunt force trauma to the head and hip regions, injuries consistent with a high-impact fall or a motor vehicle incident.

The post-mortem findings come as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) probe the fatal incident along the Piai-Itangi Murram Road in Mwea, Kirinyaga County.

Catherine's husband, Anthony Muturi, alleged that police officers pushed the couple from a moving Land Cruiser after a dispute over a KSh 1,000 bribe demand.

Clarifying the circumstances leading up to the tragedy, Muturi stated that the two had not been under arrest at the time. Instead, they had merely requested assistance and a lift in the police car, only for the encounter to take a fatal turn along the journey.

According to Muturi, what began as a routine request for help quickly deteriorated when the officers demanded money, culminating in the horrific incident that claimed his wife's life. #Embu

MP Muchangi Karemba Lectures Governor Cecily Mbarire: My elder sister, Governor Cecily Mbarire. You are missing an obvious point here. The mistake was that you PASUAD your own people and chose to feast with some while the majority were locked out. That’s what drove them to anger. However, violence in any form is unacceptable. No life should be lost or property destroyed for political reasons. Blaming others for what happened yesterday makes me believe that more mistakes will be made. #Embu

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Governor Cecily Mbarire were forced to evacuate a mobilization meeting for polling officials after residents locked outside clashed with police, reportedly believing those inside were receiving payments of up to Sh2,000.

The chaos allegedly left several people feared dead and scores injured in a stampede, while at least four vehicles were burnt, including one belonging to journalist Edwin Murimi.

Witnesses also reported seeing a body by the roadside and a man who had allegedly been shot twice. Authorities are expected to investigate the deaths, fires and reported security lapses as political tensions continue to rise. #Embu

Death Mystery! Man leaves his friend at his rented house in Embu and travels to Mombasa for vacation, only for his decomposing body to be discovered days later

Detectives in Embu have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a 26-year-old man whose decomposing body was discovered inside his friend's rented house days after the tenant had travelled to Mombasa.

The deceased, identified as Mark Muia, was found dead on Tuesday, July 21, at Himater Apartments in Sunrise Estate within the Blue Valley area after neighbours complained of a foul smell coming from House B5.

The apartment caretaker alerted police, prompting officers to break into the house, where they discovered the decomposing body.

According to preliminary investigations, the body had no visible external injuries.

Detectives also recovered a bottle of Predator Energy Drink from the floor inside the house, which has been documented as part of the investigation.

Police established that the house belonged to a man who had travelled to Mombasa for a vacation on Friday, July 17, after leaving the house keys with his friend, Mark Muia. #Embu
