Jianghao Huo, a 29-year-old Tsinghua University graduate and former robotics team leader, is leading Dreame Technology’s efforts to automate household chores. The company aims to develop AI-powered robots capable of cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and managing everyday household tasks.

Huo joined Dreame around six years ago, choosing the startup over major technology companies. She previously helped develop robotic vacuum cleaners and now leads projects focused on robots that can understand their surroundings and perform complex physical tasks.

At a technology exhibition in Berlin, Dreame introduced experimental robots designed to sort clothes, operate washing machines, organize rooms, and move household items. The company also plans to introduce a two-armed robot in 2027 that could clear tables and operate kitchen appliances.

However, handling delicate objects and adapting to unpredictable home environments remain major challenges. Huo estimates that widespread adoption of advanced household robots is still more than two to three years away, with the ultimate goal of giving people more free time by eliminating routine chores.
