Luxury watch brand Jacob & Co. has reportedly taken down Instagram posts that showed or mentioned the late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, popularly known as Sir Wicknell, including those that spotlighted his ties to the brand.
The removals stand out because Chivayo had a very visible relationship with the company, including trips to its Geneva headquarters and purchases of multiple expensive timepieces.
In July 2026, Chivayo said he had spent millions of dollars on Jacob & Co. watches while on a private visit to the Geneva facility, where founder Jacob Arabo hosted him. Regional outlets reported that one piece was a Billionaire Double Tourbillon worth roughly Kes 441,150,000
Then in September, Arabo announced that Chivayo had taken delivery of the first Jacob & Co. Godfather II, reportedly priced at Kes 85,635,000 and engraved with his initials, "WMC 777." Arabo called him a friend and praised his charitable work.
Chivayo, for his part, also called Arabo a friend and said that after another Geneva visit he had added five more Jacob & Co. watches to his collection.
