Kenya is set to break ground on the East Africa Refinery in Lamu, as the government advances plans to strengthen regional energy security, create jobs and boost industrialisation.
President William Ruto held talks with Dangote Industries CEO Aliko Dangote and Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) CEO Samaila Zubairu on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, where they discussed the project's financing and final preparations for its commencement.
