Aliko Dangote has started building key fuel infrastructure to supply petroleum products across Southern Africa.
A major oil depot in Namibia will serve as the hub for a 1,700-kilometer pipeline network reaching Botswana, South Africa, and others.
The project, valued at $2.5 billion, will store about 4 million barrels of fuel and deliver cheaper petroleum to landlocked countries.
Dangote Group is investing in similar projects, including a $660 million pipeline connecting Djibouti to Ethiopia to ensure steady fuel supply.
