Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones gradually lose density and structural strength, becoming more fragile and vulnerable to fractures. It often develops silently, without noticeable symptoms or pain, for many years.
As bone tissue breaks down faster than it is replaced, the internal structure becomes increasingly porous.

A fracture may occur even after a minor fall or, in severe cases, during everyday activities. The hips, spine and wrists are among the most commonly affected areas.

The first warning sign may be a fracture - making early detection and bone-density assessment important, particularly with increasing age.
