Boda Boda Rider Eric Otieno Dies After Police Station Beating in Kenya

Arrested Saturday night on a vague charge of preparing to commit a felony and detained at Muthaiga Police station, Otieno was released around 11 p.m Sunday in severe pain from stomach beatings, as he told his brother Emmanuel Sakis.

Rushed to Mama Margaret Uhuru Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival, with a post-mortem confirming trauma marks.

Youths stormed the station demanding answers, drawing parallels to last year's custody death of blogger Albert Ojwang, as activists call for an independent probe into this pattern of brutality.

Death Mystery! Man leaves his friend at his rented house in Embu and travels to Mombasa for vacation, only for his decomposing body to be discovered days later

Detectives in Embu have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a 26-year-old man whose decomposing body was discovered inside his friend's rented house days after the tenant had travelled to Mombasa.

The deceased, identified as Mark Muia, was found dead on Tuesday, July 21, at Himater Apartments in Sunrise Estate within the Blue Valley area after neighbours complained of a foul smell coming from House B5.

The apartment caretaker alerted police, prompting officers to break into the house, where they discovered the decomposing body.

According to preliminary investigations, the body had no visible external injuries.

Detectives also recovered a bottle of Predator Energy Drink from the floor inside the house, which has been documented as part of the investigation.

Police established that the house belonged to a man who had travelled to Mombasa for a vacation on Friday, July 17, after leaving the house keys with his friend, Mark Muia. #Embu

Drama was momentarily witnessed earlier today in Ruiru after a woman who had been convinced by an unidentified man to book a lodging came out calling for help with blood oozing from her lips. Minutes later, it was discovered that she had been bitten by the said man who is now being suspected of being the Ruiru vampire.

Some leaders if not careful will be like Francis Nyamu Kagwima. Kagwima was Moi pointman in east who was used to divide the mountain votes for his advantage. This thing of dividing the mountain did not come today. He was Tharaka MP from 1988-1997, then from 2002-2007. Moi appointed him the assistant minister of IT immediately after the 1992 elections and made him his Mt Kenya east pointman with instructions to make sure that Mt Kenya is divided into east and west. He surely fallen to the trap and went against the wave. In 1997, he was swept away by the Mt Kenya wave and Cecilio Murango Mwenda was elected as the new Tharaka MP. Let no one cheat you. Mt Kenya can never be divided. Go against Mt Kenya wave at your own peril #elections2027 #wantam
