Boda Boda Rider Eric Otieno Dies After Police Station Beating in Kenya

Arrested Saturday night on a vague charge of preparing to commit a felony and detained at Muthaiga Police station, Otieno was released around 11 p.m Sunday in severe pain from stomach beatings, as he told his brother Emmanuel Sakis.

Rushed to Mama Margaret Uhuru Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival, with a post-mortem confirming trauma marks.

Youths stormed the station demanding answers, drawing parallels to last year's custody death of blogger Albert Ojwang, as activists call for an independent probe into this pattern of brutality.
