TikTok removed 884,591 videos in Kenya for violating its Community Guidelines during the first quarter of 2026, while deleting 48,739 accounts belonging to users under the age of 13, according to the platform's newly released Q1 2026 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.
The company said 99.7% of the flagged videos were proactively detected and removed before any user reports were made, with 96.3% taken down within 24 hours of being uploaded. TikTok also interrupted 103,847 LIVE rooms in Kenya during the quarter for breaching its guidelines, part of what it described as an intensified focus on the safety of real-time broadcasts, including monitoring monetisation enforcement and issuing warnings to creators.
The underage-account removals form part of the platform's ongoing effort to enforce its minimum age requirement of 13. TikTok said the increased use of artificial intelligence, which now accounts for more than 96% of all content removals globally, has allowed harmful videos and non-compliant accounts to be identified and taken down faster, with thousands of trust and safety professionals working alongside automated systems to enforce its Community Guidelines, Terms of Service and Advertising Policies.
The Kenya figures follow a similar pattern to the previous quarter, when TikTok removed 820,552 videos and banned 108,752 accounts, 93,704 of which were suspected to belong to under-13 users — underscoring a persistent, large-scale challenge in preventing minors from creating accounts in the first place, since detection after sign-up is a fundamentally different problem than blocking access at registration. Globally, TikTok removed over 184 million videos in Q1 2026, representing roughly 0.5% of all uploaded content, with automated systems catching the vast majority before any human review.
