WANTED SUSPECT NABBED AT JKIA WITH COCAINE WORTH SH13.5M

A Kenyan woman who has been wanted by detectives since last year has been arrested at JKIA while allegedly attempting to travel to Bangladesh with 3.383kg of cocaine valued at Sh13.53 million.

Jane Waithera Wateri was intercepted by Kenya Airports Criminal Investigations detectives following a stop order from the National Anti-Narcotics Investigations Bureau.

Three bags containing suspected narcotics were recovered during the search, with a preliminary field test returning positive for cocaine.

She is being held at JKIA Police Station as NANIB and the Financial Investigations Unit investigate the suspected trafficking network. Authorities have warned against using Kenyan airports as gateways for the illegal drug trade.
