Tragedy in Meru as 31-Year-Old Woman Brutally Murdered Outside Her House in Suspected Love Triangle.

Tragic news has gripped Muthathia village in Buuri West, Meru County, following the violent murder of 31 year old Charity Kinya, who was ambushed on Thursday morning, September 10, 2026, just steps away from her house near the Full Gospel Church.

According to preliminary reports, Kinya, who had moved into the rental compound only a month ago, woke up before dawn to use an outdoor sanitation facility on the property.

She was ambushed by an unidentified assailant before reaching the structure.

Her body was discovered by neighbors at around 5:00 a.m. near the compound gate, bearing deep, severe cuts to her head and the right side of her hip, likely inflicted by a sharp weapon.

While no suspects have been arrested yet, crime scene investigators recovered key items, including a black phone casing, to aid in tracking the perpetrator.

Police confirmed they are pursuing several leads, with a potential love triangle currently forming a central line of inquiry into the motive behind the attack.

Kinya's body was moved to the Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary pending a post-mortem examination. #Meru
