Kiambu M-Pesa Heist as Attendant and Husband Flee with KSh 500,000 in Mukui.

Police in Kiambu County have launched a manhunt for an M-Pesa shop attendant and her husband who allegedly fled with KSh 500,000 stolen from her employer on August 25, 2026.

​The primary suspect, identified as Lilian Wanjiku, is accused of pulling off the daring heist at her place of work in Mukui, located within Nyathuna Ward.

According to initial police reports, Wanjiku vanished immediately after taking the money, disappearing alongside her husband, Mohammed Ngao.

​The shop owner discovered the cash missing shortly after the incident and promptly reported the matter to local authorities.

​As of September 2026, the current whereabouts of both Wanjiku and Ngao remain completely unknown.

Investigating officers are following up on leads and have appealed to members of the public with any information regarding the couple's whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
