DCI Names Police Officer in Dr. Mutiso Shooting Probe

Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations revealed at a Friday press briefing that Police Constable Elijah Kibelion Kimoi from Karinde Police Post fatally shot Dr. Mutiso, confirming his presence at the July 29 scene in Nairobi’s Upper Hill through forensic evidence.

The announcement followed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's public challenge to the DCI, where he accused them of a cover-up and named specific officers, including one from Kikuyu Police Station. Two police suspects were already under arrest, along with recovery of a pistol and motorcycle, amid probes into links with lawyer Kyalo Mbobu's killing.

Peter Munya Brands Gachagua a 'Bully', Deepening Opposition Rift

Cracks within the Opposition have continued to widen ahead of the 2027 General Election after Party of National Unity (PNU) leader Peter Munya launched a fresh attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of being a bully and warning against what he termed dictatorial leadership tendencies.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday night, Munya claimed Gachagua had developed a pattern of intimidating fellow leaders and using disrespectful language, saying such conduct was undermining efforts to build a united Opposition.

"Gachagua is a bully. You saw when he talked about the Governor of Murang’a, calling him 'kiherehere', and the governor was attacked by goons when he went to Ol Kalou. We think he needs to act more responsibly when dealing with leaders and all human beings. Use your language more courteously, and you'll go further than you have gone," Munya said.

The former Cabinet Secretary further urged Gachagua to exercise humility, saying respect was critical in building political alliances, particularly in the Mt Kenya region where different leaders commanded significant support. #Gachagua #Elections2027

REVEALED! Senior Security Chief Decline To Authorize Proposed Arrest Of H.E Rigathi Gachagua

A few days ago, the proposed arrest of the legitimate Deputy President, H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, was tabled for deliberation at the high table of the country’s principal security organs.

CS Kipchumba Murkomen fronted the push for his arrest and was said to have made frantic calls to operationalize the directive. According to the brief, H.E. Gachagua was slated for apprehension on Sunday evening under a planned security operation.

However, senior security principals from various formations within the national security architecture outside the National Police Service ,who constitute the decision-making organ on matters of state security declined to grant authorization for the arrest. The non-concurrence from the principals effectively placed the operation on hold and denied the requisite operational clearance.

President William Ruto was reported to be non-committal on the matter and was reserved in commenting on it. In light of the lack of consensus among the security principals, the deliberations on the arrest were deferred and rescheduled to a subsequent sitting.

Could this be the reason why Hon. Oscar Sudi was engaged in public pronouncements the entire day yesterday, calling for the arrest, seemingly unaware that the designated security decision makers had not issued the requisite authorization?

GACHAGUA outlines strict conditions for aspirants keen to join his DCP party ahead of 2027 elections – β€œWe don’t want traitors”

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has outlined strict conditions for entry into the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), naming three categories of leaders who will be barred.

Speaking in an interview with political strategist Herman Manyora on Friday, July 31, Gachagua said MPs who voted for the 2024 Finance Bill, those who supported his impeachment, and leaders accused of unleashing goons on Mount Kenya residents would not be accepted unless the people advised otherwise.

β€œWe don’t want traitors, anybody who removed me from office, passed the 2024 Finance Bill and organised goons to attack our people in churches, we don’t want,” he stated.

While stressing that he would like to welcome leaders from the Mountain back despite their ties to President William Ruto, Gachagua insisted the decision rests with the people.

He acknowledged that some leaders may have been misled by Ruto, whom he described as β€œa very deceptive character,” and urged forgiveness, though he admitted many in the community remain unwilling.

The DCP leader further alleged that a Laikipia MP allied to government was roughed up by his supporters outside Wamunyoro while attempting to meet him.

Gachagua also opined that President Ruto would likely drop Deputy President Kithure Kindiki ahead of the 2027 General Election, arguing Kindiki lacks the numbers to serve as running mate.

He dismissed speculation of working with Ruto again, saying such a move would amount to β€œpolitical suicide.” #Elections2027 #Gachagua

MŨGO WA KÍBÍRŨ THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE

MΕ©go wa KΓbΓrΕ©, the great prophet, foresaw his own disappearance. When the time came, he summoned the twelve elders (kings) to the thΓngΓra and told them: β€œ I will be leaving on a journey of no return. Two days from now, prepare for me one gourd of MΕ©ratΓna brewed with honey, not sugarcane. Bring also a he-goat, and take me to the MΕ©thaΓ tree, the very place where my father, KΓbΓrΕ©, found me as a young boy. Slaughter the goat and cover me with its skin.” On the appointed day, everything was done exactly as he instructed. The elders left him there alone.

At dawn the next morning, they returned… but he was gone. They searched for any trace, footprints, signs of struggle, marks of wild animals ,but nothing was found. No trace. No evidence. It was as if he had vanished from the face of the earth. And that is how MΕ©go wa KΓbΓrΕ© disappeared.

He also left behind a warning: β€œ When the frogs arrive, do not take everything they bring. Take only what benefits you.” To me, this speaks clearly even today. To those who say: β€œNjΓkΕ©, how can you reject Christianity yet use English, go to schools introduced by the white man, or use their technology?” my answer is simple: i took what benefits me.

Taking knowledge, language, or tools does not mean I must take everything, including beliefs that replace my own. My ancestors knew NgaΓ long before the white man set foot on our land. So why should I abandon NgaΓ for an imported God? #Kikuyu #mugo #nyeri
