DCI Names Police Officer in Dr. Mutiso Shooting Probe
Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations revealed at a Friday press briefing that Police Constable Elijah Kibelion Kimoi from Karinde Police Post fatally shot Dr. Mutiso, confirming his presence at the July 29 scene in Nairobiβs Upper Hill through forensic evidence.
The announcement followed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's public challenge to the DCI, where he accused them of a cover-up and named specific officers, including one from Kikuyu Police Station. Two police suspects were already under arrest, along with recovery of a pistol and motorcycle, amid probes into links with lawyer Kyalo Mbobu's killing.
