Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata has been ranked Kenya's best-performing governor in the latest Infotrak survey, earning an approval rating of 80 percent.

Kang'ata is followed by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, who scored 76 percent, while Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi came third with a 71 percent approval rating.

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr., and Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wesley Rotich are tied for fourth place, each posting a 68 percent approval rating. #Elections2027 #Kangata

🚨 GOVERNOR KANG'ATA VISITS DRIVER RECOVERING AFTER RALLY SHOOTING

Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata has visited his driver, Gitari, who is recovering after being shot during unrest ahead of a political rally in Nyahururu last month.

Photos from the visit, showing Gitari at his modest rural home, quickly circulated online and sparked widespread debate. While many praised the governor for checking on his injured employee, others questioned the living conditions of political staff and whether drivers and support personnel are fairly compensated.

Detectives have arrested Kevin Ndereba Kilonzo and Shaban Warui Zainab in connection with a horrific attack in Kikuyu.

According to investigators, the two suspects allegedly posed as Good Samaritans after a road accident before turning on the injured victims. They are accused of robbing the couple, forcing them to reveal their M-PESA PINs, draining their accounts, and gang-raping the female victim.

Police say investigations are ongoing to establish whether the suspects are linked to other violent robberies and sexual offences reported in the area.

If convicted, the suspects could face serious criminal charges under Kenyan law.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
