JKUAT has reportedly told the Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) that Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa was not a student at the university and that it did not award him a Bachelorβs degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in May 2008.
In a letter dated September 14, 2026, JKUAT Registrar Academic Affairs Dr Aggrey Wanyama said the universityβs records do not contain Barasaβs name and described the purported certificate as βNOT GENUINE.β
The letter adds that EACC and the Engineers Board of Kenya previously investigated the matter.
