It is now emerging that President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, is set to tie the knot with her Tanzanian fiancΓ©, Isaya Yunge, a tech entrepreneur and co-founder of SomaApp, a scholarship-matching mobile application that has helped more than 7,000 young Africans access educational opportunities.War & Conflict

Isaya is an influential figure in the technology industry and has traveled across the globe, meeting prominent world leaders and business icons, including the late Queen Elizabeth II, former UK Prime Minister Sir John Major, former South African President Jacob Zuma and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The same year, Forbes named him among 40 African entrepreneurs who represented the continent at the Forbes Under 30 Summit in Boston, Massachusetts.

He was also listed among Tanzania's emerging entrepreneurs to watch.

Besides SomaApp, Yunge founded KAYA, an AI-powered smart speaker designed to collect and process African-related data.

Kenyan Users Call for G4S Boycott After State House Event
On August 6, 2026, President William Ruto hosted over 5,000 private security guards at State House, the first such event for a Kenyan president, with many attendees wearing G4S uniforms and chanting supporter slogans like 'Tutam.'

Social media users accused the firm of unprofessional political involvement, sharing pledges to stop using its courier services and switch to competitors.

While some defended the officers' personal attendance and noted a past similar event under former President Uhuru Kenyatta, G4S has not commented amid the ongoing calls to avoid its services.

Experts Explain Why Nairobi Is Experiencing Extreme Cold This August

Nairobi residents should brace for several more days of chilly weather after a weather expert linked the biting cold currently being experienced across the city to increased cloud cover caused by a Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) wave over Equatorial Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Weather analyst Maithya wa VilivΕ« explained that the atmospheric phenomenon is reinforcing cold conditions across the highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, including the Nairobi Metropolitan Area and parts of the South Eastern region.

"This week, increased cloudiness due to the recent Madden-Julian Oscillation wave across Equatorial Africa and the Indian Ocean will reinforce chilly weather over the highlands east and west of the Rift, including the Nairobi Metro Area," the expert explained.

The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is a large-scale weather pattern that moves slowly eastwards around the tropics every 30 to 60 days, influencing cloud formation, rainfall and wind patterns.

NCIC Summons Duale, Gachagua, Ruku and Kaguchia Over Alleged Hate Speech

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned Health CS Aden Duale, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku, and Mukurwe-ini MP John Kaguchia to record statements over alleged hate speech.

NCIC says the four leaders are expected to begin appearing before the Commission next week.
The Commission also confirmed that Gachagua's file has already been forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) after investigations.

The Commission warned that its summonses carry the force of law and that failure to appear could result in warrants of arrest being issued. #Elections2027 #Gachagua

Mutula Kilonzo Jr has just said what millions of young Kenyans have been thinking, and I wish President Ruto would understand this very well.

Vision 2060 means little to someone who doesn't know what they'll eat tomorrow.

Ruto seems to thinks it's about the biggest vision, but Kenyans just want someone who can convince them that tomorrow will be better than today.

This is exactly what I think Sifuna and his team have almost successfully managed to communicate. #Elections2027 #Sifuna

🚨 CONTROVERSY ROCKS HOMA BAY COUNTY

A developing controversy in Homa Bay County has sparked public outrage following allegations involving the County Woman Representative and popular local musician Atomy Sifa.

According to the allegations, the Woman Representative recently came under criticism after reportedly using County Affirmative Action Funds to build a house for her brother. The claims attracted widespread condemnation from residents, including Atomy Sifa, who publicly criticized what he described as corruption and poor leadership.

It is alleged that after the criticism, the Woman Representative became angry and warned that she would "deal with" the musician.

According to the claims, matters escalated when one of her employees allegedly took one of her cows and tied it inside the musician's compound while he was away performing at a local club. The Woman Representative then reportedly called police, claiming the musician had stolen her cow.

When Atomy Sifa returned home and found the cow tied in his compound, it is alleged that he chose to leave it there, believing the owner would simply come and collect it. Instead, officers from Kendu Bay Police Station reportedly arrived, found the cow still tied where it had been left, arrested the musician, and detained him.

The arrest reportedly triggered public anger, with residents demanding an explanation and accusing the Woman Representative of abusing the criminal justice system to settle personal scores.

According to the allegations, when the case came up in court the following day, the Woman Representative personally appeared and withdrew the case, reportedly stating that the "missing" cow had been found.

If these allegations are true, they raise serious questions about the misuse of public office, abuse of police processes, and the need for accountability.

Authorities have not publicly confirmed these allegations or responded to the claims.

What do you think? Should there be an independent investigation into this matter?

Crowds Chase Kimilili MP Barasa After Cash Runs Out at Event
On July 30, Barasa faced backlash during a public gathering in Kimilili, Bungoma County, where crowds grew agitated after money distribution ended abruptly, leading to chants of β€œSisi ni Sifuna” and β€œWantam” while some damaged his vehicles and equipment. Police stepped in to control the unrest, which followed opposition rallies by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna in the area.

Barasa called it overwhelming support for the government, but critics saw it as rejection of handouts in favor of real development, reflecting deep political divides ahead of 2027 elections. #Elections2027
