Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has issued a chilling warning that allies of President William Ruto are planning to “eliminate” Deputy President Kithure Kindiki following the crushing UDA defeat in the Ol Kalou by-election.
Speaking in recent remarks, Gachagua claimed the humiliating loss in what was supposed to be a stronghold has triggered intense backlash against Kindiki within the ruling camp.“Ruto’s people are now disrespecting him and plotting against him,” Gachagua said, adding that Kindiki — whom he referred to as “our son” from Mt Kenya — should prepare for betrayal. Gachagua went further, telling Kindiki:
“Ukipata shida mbele… come back home.” (If you get into trouble ahead… come back home.)He drew parallels to his own experience, alleging that after falling out with Ruto, he survived poisoning attempts in Kisumu and other plots before his impeachment.
