Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku Suggests Joining ODM to Protect Kindiki's Deputy Presidency
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has suggested that he and other leaders would be willing to join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) if doing so would help safeguard Deputy President Kithure Kindiki's position.
Speaking on July 30 in Ontulili, Buuri Constituency, Ruku urged ODM leaders to stop portraying the deputy presidency as a vacant position. He specifically cautioned leaders, including Wycliffe Oparanya, against statements that could undermine Kindiki, insisting that the office rightfully belongs to him.
Ruku also reaffirmed that the Mt. Kenya region remains firmly behind the President William RutoβKithure Kindiki ticket ahead of the 2027 General Election. His remarks come amid ongoing discussions between Kenya Kwanza and ODM, highlighting the delicate political negotiations and power-sharing dynamics shaping the country's political landscape. #Elections2027
